All You Need Is Love

In the immortal words of John Lennon . . .

"Life is what happens to you when you're making other plans."

Well, that's been my life the last few months . . .

. . . oh wait! To be honest . . . that's been the quote for my life during the last 10 years. It's only taken me 50 years to realize "Oh! This is just life!!" Did I plan to get divorced? Did I plan to have a chronically ill child? Did I plan to be laid off twice last year? Did I plan to have 6 surgeries in 3 years? *Sigh* It's okay. I'm alive.

"All You Need is Love." John Lennon (Right??)

On to 5 Question Friday!! Woo hoo :D

Rules for 5QF: Copy and paste the following questions to your blog, answer them, then watch for the link back to Mama M. Feel free to answer in the comments if you don't have a blog or already wrote a post (although, for the record, she leaves the linky open until Sunday, so you have plenty of time!!)

1. If you could be a fly on any wall, which would you choose?

I saved this question for last, even though it's #1. Wow. This one really had me thinking. I even had to ask my husband. Since he's a Software Engineer you'd probably NEVER guess his answer (that was sarcasm, in case you didn't know!) . . . Steve Job's office, so he would know how to play Apple's stock.

For me . . . there are several: The Oval Office and Donald Trump's office. Can you imagine the secrets that would come out of BOTH those offices?

2. Do you budget your Christmas shopping or just get it done without budgeting?

Years ago . . . MANY years ago, I used to do my Christmas shopping all during the year and would have it done by October. Don't laugh . . . I really did. But as my boys have become older, their gifts have become more expensive. Now I have to SAVE all year and try to get it all done the week before Christmas. Hmmm . . . maybe I should go back to the "good 'ol days."

3. What is the craziest fad diet you have ever done?

Cabbage and Cayenne Pepper soup. Every day. Every meal. For 4 days. Blech!!! To the nth degree blech!

4. Is there a TV show that you have seen every episode/season of?

Ohhhhh, yes! Every episode! Two words: Gilmore. Girls.

"If you're out on the road . . . (doot, do, doot), feeling lonely, and so cold . . ."

5. What one song always pulls at your heart?

This exactly describes a relationship I had years and years ago. Enough said.

Thanks for commenting on my blog! I LOVE Gilmore girls too - it was/is my favorite show of all time. I did Peace Corps for two years and missed a few episodes I think. My sister bought me the last two seasons though and I was just crushed when it ended.
Hope you have a great Halloween!

Life and Five Question Friday

WoW ! Exactly a month since my last post and I'm going to revert to my usual "Five Question Friday" staple. Life has just been one cRaZY thing after another since the boys and I were in the play. Here are just a few highlights: I turned 51. Woo Hoo !! I may be losing yet another job (but positive thinking is leading me to new possibilities!) My brother was stabbed and almost didn't live to tell the tale (a couple of flat lines in the OR and a VERY long scar from his sternum down past his bellybutton are evidence) My youngest brother and his family were here for a visit (I haven't seen them since 2007) And . . . I'm set for ONE more surgery on my shoulder. And this will be the last one . . . absolutely . . . positively!! PHEW! I think that's enough for the summer. Now . . . on to the questions for the day. If you want to play along, copy and paste the questions to your blog (or just answer them in my comments area), link back to the fabulous Mama M

The things we do . . .

Woo Hoo! Mama M's Five Question Friday has one of my submitted questions. Thank you, Mama! That's a HUGE thank you to Mama M since it's been a tough couple of weeks for her family after a tragedy hit them. If you're a praying sort of person, they could benefit from them. I know they have mine. If you'd like to join in, I'd love to read your answers. Just comment or hook on up with the linky. And here we go . . . 1. Would you rather be on ABC's Extreme Home MakeOver or TLC's What not to Wear? Easy choice here. I already know how to dress and look F-A-B-U-L-O-U-S!! Thanks to Carol Tuttle and her "Dressing Your Truth " and "Energy Profiling" systems. Check it out. The only problem with Extreme Home Makeover is this . . . His screaming drives me NUTS!! I liked him SO much better when he was on Trading Spaces with cute little Paige Page. He wasn't so . . . IN YOUR FACE obnoxious! 2. Do you have any tattoos? Well . . . yes a

Miss Manners

It's that time again . . . FIVE QUESTION FRIDAY!! Which means it's almost the weekend and I'm doing the "happy dance" for that one! I missed 5QF last week because of one WHOPPER of a migraine that put me in the ER for an IV cocktail that was heavenly. So . . . here are the questions. Hook up from Mama M's page and join this enlightening meme! 1. Do you know what your REAL hair color is? You bet! Brunette . . . with a bit of red when the sun hits it just right. Is that the color right now? Oh wait . . . that wasn't the question. *Wink* *wink* 2. Do you plan ahead for summer, or fly by the seat of your pants? Summer is just like any other season. I go to work. I come home. I go to bed. I get up. And repeat. WHY I don't go on a vacation I'll never know! 3. What is your favorite meal to cook? I have a killer recipe for homemade creamy chicken soup . . . with dill and red wine vinegar. It's easy and it's awesome when the weather o
